There is a never-before-seen example I am really fond of: strictly speaking, if you stand in front of a mirror, there is a moment while you&#8217;re already standing there, but\u00a0your image in the mirror is not visible yet. This phenomenon exists due to the finite propagation speed of electromagnetic waves and only lasts for a few nanoseconds, and is now\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/giga.cps.unizar.es\/~ajarabo\/pubs\/femtoSIG2013\/downloads\/velten_sig13_movie.mov\" target=\"_blank\">caught on\u00a0tape<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0(around the one minute mark). I never thought this would be possible in my lifetime! Recently, <a href=\"http:\/\/giga.cps.unizar.es\/~ajarabo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Adri\u00e1n Jarabo<\/a> and colleagues built a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/giga.cps.unizar.es\/~ajarabo\/pubs\/transientSIGA14\/\" target=\"_blank\">rendering algorithm<\/a><\/strong> that replicates this behavior.
