My full name, incl. titles, is Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Helwig Karl Hauser (name before marriage in 1999: Dr. Helwig Löffelmann). I was born on April 16th, 1971, in Vienna, Austria, as the first son of Mag. Gundula Löffelmann (maiden name: Gruss) and Dr. Klaus Löffelmann. After going to school in Mistelbach and Vienna, I studied computer science at Vienna University of Technology in Austria - MSc-like graduation [Dipl.-Ing.] plus PhD [Dr.techn.] in the field of computer graphics and visualization, later. On November 6, 1999, I married Mag. Maria Hauser, and on April 21, 2000, our son Jakob was born. From the age of 20 on I worked at Vienna University of Technology in various positions, especially at the Institute of Computer Graphics and Algorithms. Since mid-2000 I'm working for the VRVis Research Center, also in Vienna, Austria, leading the basic research on visualization, there.
