This
tree was built using opacity maps for the twigs.
I made it after I saw the strange looking trees in MYST.
My
forest consists of projections of the above
tree.
I used triangles with opacity and texture maps of the tree for the trees
in the foreground and maps of the foreground trees in the background. It
took me three iterations to get this picture. The fog is just painted in
in photoshop.
The waterfall is actually part of an animation
using particle systems for the fall and the foam under it,
and procedural animated bump mapping for the waves.
The
pile of stones was planned as background for
the element "earth" but I didn't use it. Especially the rough stone was quite
a hack.
This
nice snail was quite easy to model. Just one
simple extrusion and Presto! there it was!
Of course the textures and bumps took some time afterwards, but they are
really just frosting.
The
banana
was easy to model and hard to paint. Oh, how I wish to own a good 3D paint
program. So I used Photoshop to paint and distort the texture and bump maps.
